vicemag: Notes from the Florida Primary A little sidenote: The whole “Why The #%*% Should I Have to Press 1 For English” sentiment ignores the fact that, when businesses decide to make you press 1 for english, they make this decision because they think that it will allow them to better serve the maximum amount of customers. Which, you know, capitalism. It’s not because they necessarily give a shit about being inclusive or multi-cultural, they just want to make $$$ and isn’t that spirit of free-market capitalism what Republicans sort of claim to be all about? Also if you don’t press anything it almost always defaults to english.
